Attached are the Coast to coast (C2C) tracks that I have mapped.
Please note that they are NOT real-time acquired, but rather mapped on a computer with a scanned and calibrated copy of (amongst others) the Harvey Coast to coast maps.

They have also been "checked" against Google maps and Google earth, as well as compared with other logged tracks available on the web. To the best of my ability they seem accurate, BUT they are no substitute for a map and compass on the walk! If they are within 25 meters of reality I would be delighted!!

I will be walking the C2C in MAY 2007, and recording the actual route taken. When this is available I will publish this to the web as well.

A Note regarding each section:-

1stbeestoenerdale.gpx :-
This incorporates the "new" route over Dent which Stedman mentions in his 2006 edition. Also have the
"Traditional" zig zag down Dent.(old day 1 route)

11enerdaletorosthwaite.gpx :-
Main route is the traditional low road. Also have the High Stile alternative that winds up ABOVE Blackbeck tarn
to the old tramway (c/o Harvey maps) and the more traditional route from Haystacks via Inomminate tarn to loft Beck (loweralternative). Choose your poison :-)

12Rosthwaitetograsmere.gpx :-
Set the High road via calf crag as main route. Low road also included "Easedale Grasmere direct alternative"

13Grasmeretopatterdale.gpx :-
4 options!
Main route is via little tongue and via the valley direct into Patterdale. "Grasmere to Patterdale Direct"
Also Includes:
a) Great tongue (gill) route "East of Great Toungue alternative"
b) Helvellyn / striding edge route "Helvellyn Alternative"
c) St Sunday crag route "St Sunday Crag alternative"

14patterdaletoorton.gpx :-
As above, not suggesting you need to do it in one day. :-)

15ortontoKirkbystephen.gpx :-
Follows the current route that apparently does not allow you to cross blow Sunbiggin Tarn, but rather - follow the road NE then SE.

16kirkbystephentokeld.gpx :-
3 routes as expected.
Main route is via "blue route" (Aug-Nov) "Kirkby Stephen Nine Standards"
the alternative Red Route (May-July) "Nine standards middle route"
and the Green Route (Dec-April) "Original Track"

17keldtoreethe.gpx :-
No magic here. Follow the Harvey "high road" route. Slightly different entering Reeth near the Old school house.
One of several ways in as far as I am aware.

171swaledalealt.gpx :-
An attempt at the Swaldale river-side alternative on the Keld to reeth route. NOT well marked on maps but this seems pretty close as far as I can see :-)

18reethtorichmond.gpx :-
Seems pretty standard route.

19richmondtodanbywiske.gpx :-
Again all standard.

20danbywisketoosmotherley.gpx :-
Bit of licence here. Osmotherley is NOT traditionally part of C2C BUT a convenient break anyway. The actual track does NOT go into Osmotherley in this file, but the road should be obvious from the "apex" of Arncliffe woods.

21osmotherleytoCBT.gpx :-
CBT= Clay Bank Top   :-)
Either go north to Great Broughton or south to Urra - for a bed!

22CBTtoblakey.gpx :-
Specifically to the lion inn!

23blakeytogrosmont.gpx :-
Traditional route.

24grosmonttoRobinHoodBay.gpx :-
Nuff said!

I hope these help you plan or are part of your C2C experience. They do run west to east in file order, but you can easily reverse the track (If you want to) to trackback on your GPSr

Enjoy the journey!
